Grand Theft Auto Online - the online multiplayer mode for Grand Theft Auto V - has been a huge financial success for Rockstar Games generating billions of dollars in revenue since its release in 2013 and continues to be played by millions of people around the world.
It is therefore highly likely that Grand Theft Auto VI will also feature an online multiplayer mode, however, it is not yet known whether this mode will be a continuation of Grand Theft Auto Online or a new feature altogether. Read More about GTA VI's Development.
There have been some fairly strong rumors over the years which cannot be confirmed so far, including:
GTA VI may feature multiple cities
As well as Vice City, the game may also take place in a remastered Liberty City, and/or potentially other new cities based in South America.
GTA VI may be set across multiple timelines
Early rumors suggested the game may be set across different decades, with some parts taking place in the 70's or 80's and others in modern day.
The age rating for Grand Theft Auto VI is unknown at this time as it has not yet been rated, however, Rockstar Games have stated the game "may contain content inappropriate for children" (crazy I know)! Previous games in the series have been rated M for Mature by the ESRB. We expect something similar to GTA V's ratings.
GTA VI has not officially been announced for PC, however based on the assumption it will arrive in the future, it's likely the system requirements for Grand Theft Auto VI's PC release will be higher than those for Grand Theft Auto V, which are as follows.
Note that these are the minimum requirements, and to fully experience the game, it is recommended to have higher specifications than the minimum.
At this time, it is unclear if Grand Theft Auto VI will include cross-play or cross-progression support. In the past, Rockstar Games has allowed players to transfer their GTA Online progress between different platforms following re-releases of Grand Theft Auto V, but the game does not currently support cross-play.
Given ongoing issues with modders and hackers in the PC version of GTA Online, it seems unlikely that cross-play between consoles and PC will be supported in Grand Theft Auto VI. However, cross-play between consoles is still a possibility and could potentially be included in the game.
Grand Theft Auto VI will feature a hugely diverse range of wildlife as seen in the first trailer. You can read more about Animals in GTA VI.
