Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer Launched Early Due To Leak - Coming 2025
Rockstar Games were unfortunately forced to launch the first official GTA VI trailer early after it was leaked online.
The trailer which you can watch above or on Rockstar Games' YouTube was released at 11:07pm GMT, almost 15 hours early following more devastating leaks for Rockstar Games. To counter the leaks, Rockstar took to Twitter and YouTube to launch the trailer early.
The trailer features the song Love Is A Long Road by artist Tom Petty and as expected, clocks in at 1 minute 31 seconds in length. Within 2 hours of launching, the trailer had already gained over 4 million 'thumbs up' votes on YouTube and been watched 11 million times.
In a press release sent out by Take-Two Interactive, further details were revealed, including that the game will be set in the state of Leonida and include Vice City.
“Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.
We've also been keeping track of the animals we can see in the trailer. Let us know if you spot anything we missed.
Update - Tuesday, December 5th, 2 PM GMT
At the original scheduled launch time for the trailer, Rockstar Games tweeted out the link to the YouTube video again. They also launched the official splash page for Grand Theft Auto VI which can be found at https://www.rockstargames.com/VI. The page includes the information from the Rockstar Games press release last night, confirming the game is coming to Next-Gen consoles only (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) with no mention of a PC release at this time.
