GTA VI Projected To Make Over $3 Billion In Year 1
According to the Financial Times, it's estimated that GTA VI could make over $1 Billion before it even launches - just from pre-orders!
The Financial Times, reporting on analysis by video game research group DFC Intelligence, suggests GTA VI will be the biggest entertainment launch of 2025, likely outperforming any movies or competing games launching during the year. It's even likely to break Rockstar's own record with GTA V which brought in $1 Billion in just 3 days following its release.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told the Financial Times: "I never claim victory before it occurs. That said, I think Rockstar Games will once again deliver something absolutely phenomenal… Certainly the anticipation is high."
The FT do explain that costs are also exceptionally high, with estimates suggesting the game's development may cost as much as $2 Billion, however Take-Two can rest assured they're still going to be handsomely in profit in the years that follow.
Do you think we'll hear an update on GTA VI in the coming weeks? With the game pencilled in to launch before the end of the year, it would be very strange for Rockstar's year of silence to continue much longer.
