GTA VI Wins Most Anticipated Game At The Game Awards

In news that will surprise no one, Grand Theft Auto VI was named the Most Anticipated Game at The Game Awards 2024.

During the awards show, a brief 10-second segment was dedicated to announcing the "Most Anticipated Game," a title that Rockstar Games presumably claimed with ease. Unlike the Golden Joystick Awards, where the game won the Most Wanted Game category, no one from Rockstar was present to accept the award or comment on it.

This marks the second award Rockstar Games has won for GTA VI, the highly anticipated title they haven't publicly mentioned in over a year. Fans are hoping this added recognition signals we're edging closer to some sort of update about the game.

Earlier this week, renowned video game journalist Jason Schreier—who previously revealed key details about the game's Miami-inspired setting, female protagonist, and first trailer release date—suggested the game might be delayed to 2026 after reportedly missing several internal deadlines. However, until Rockstar speaks up, it’s best to take this speculation with a pinch of salt.
