GTA 6 Leaks - Two Years Later
Today marks two years since our first glimpse of Grand Theft Auto VI following the massive leak in September 2022.
In case you somehow missed it, on September 18, 2022, one of the largest video game leaks in history occurred, revealing early development footage of Grand Theft Auto VI. A hacker released 90 behind-the-scenes videos showcasing dev tools and animation tests, offering our first look at the new game and some of its featured locations. Rockstar Games confirmed the leak the following day.
Before these leaks, the only information we had about the next GTA came from well-sourced rumors by Jason Schreier. According to the Bloomberg journalist, the game was expected to feature a Bonnie and Clyde-themed story, be set in Miami, and include a female lead character.
Since then, Rockstar Games has officially revealed the game and released the first official trailer. It is scheduled for release in fall 2025 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will be set in a modern-day Vice City, located in the game's fictional state of Leonida.
Rockstar have been quiet on any further GTA VI updates since the first trailer, with fans hoping for another update before the end of 2024.
